• IS THE EARTH BLEEDING?

    Stephen Bell

“Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.” –Revelation 8:8.

Previously, I wrote an article about the earth screaming (http://www.keyministries.org/blog/2010/04/19/judgment-curses-deliverance) and now we see more evidence about how the earth is affected by what men do upon it. For many, it is hard to see God’s warnings and principles about the effect of sin upon His creation and the inheritance of His Saints.

“The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall totter like a hut; its transgression shall be heavy upon it, and it will fall, and not rise again,” so the Holy Spirit says through Isaiah in chapter 24. Could this be the beginning of the end of the earth as we know it?

    Maybe so.

I have always believed the blood in the sea and on the moon, that the Bible speaks of, was human blood, but I have come to see there are other kinds of blood that give vital existence to all of God’s creation, like the sap in trees and the water in my garden. “The life is in the blood,” according to the Word of God in Leviticus 17:14. Whatever flows to give life is a type of blood.

Seems the earth has its own blood, and in this case, petroleum is that type of blood. The oil we draw out of the earth comes from the life of vegetation. Although, it has descended into the planet for many years, it still has life that comes from living things. We burn it to transform it into energy, but it does not leave the planet. It merely exists in another form.

The discovery of oil by man has perpetrated decades of turmoil, violence and greed on the earth. Everything about the search, withdrawal and refinement of petroleum has brought, not only problems, but, in many cases, chaos and conflict. Yes, some have benefited by this business. I can say that because I grew up in this environment with my earthly father working for a large oil company and with a pumping-jack in my front yard (which we did not own). It provided my dad with a good income and even a house for us to reside in, but beneath all of that, anyone who wants to observe, can see the evil inflicted by this business because of the control of the prices of oil and the tremendous wealth of those who dominate this provision for our daily living.

What if, we had found another form of energy prior to the discovery of oil? What if, God had something better, if only man had sought Him for it?

    Interesting thought is it not?

Nonetheless, here we are with the mess of the entire industry and its daily control over our lives, and now out of control with the pouring out of the millions of barrels of this “red blood” into our waters.

Is the earth bleeding—hemorrhaging—while our daily life, as we know it, is dying?

Some will say, “Oh, petroleum is a blessing of God.” Maybe so, but blessings of God have been abused by men through selfishness and greed for centuries, just like some have mishandled the gifts and anointings of the Holy Spirit of God.

Is the blood Revelation is talking about oil? Looks like blood to me.

It may be on our hands.

    What is God saying?

    What do you think?

As of now it appears that no one can "cap" the oil flow. I agree with you that men have raped, pillaged, plundered and torn apart this beautiful earth the Lord gave our first parents. We, as a whole, have not been good stewards over the planet. Perhaps the planet's cries are noticeably louder now as the end of this age rapidly approaches. REV 14:18-20 may well relate to this saga in that "blood came out from the wine press, up to horse's bridles, for a distance of two hundred miles." God's wrath takes many forms and though He is always love, so very patient and long-suffering not a one of us can soberly and sanely expect Him to just sit by and watch mankind continue plundering the earth. I do not think so. REV 22:11 speaks to the situation where the Word says "Let the one who does WRONG, still do wrong' and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy." I believe that when a volcano erupts it is akin to the earth belching rather than choking to death. The earth is deeply wounded in so many places. Your article on the Civil War speaks volumes about the "blood crying forth from the earth" on the battlefields, which I have visited and "sensed" the spirits of the departed who died in agony.Men can push at God and believe they can do anything they desire and get away with it, but time is short, God is doing a final work in the earth with a group of believers who see beyond the physical and into the spiritual. Though oil drilling, processing and use is physical and our society is married to it God is speaking and I wonder how many are listening. Many are so concerned about despoliation of the beaches, nesting areas and marshes, and that is okay, but how many are spiritually concerned about what God is saying to us through the "cries and blood of the earth". Please continue to elucidate this important subject and I join you in agreeing with your article and pray that the "eyes of many" will be opened and the "OIL OF HEALING", that true oil of the Holy Spirit, will flow into many more lives and real changes will come, both to mankind and to the earth He has given us.

The earth and all creation is moaning and groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God.

I had been asking God, "where is oil and where does it come from?". Thank you for the clear answers and confirmation of what is truely happening in the spirit realm to the world.
